Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

  • Whisk together the mashed bananas, flour, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.

  • Combine melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract in another bowl. Mix well.

  • Gently stir wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Do not overmix.

  • Fold in optional mix-ins like macadamia nuts, pineapple, or coconut.

  • Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

  • Bake for 55–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes clean.

  • Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use bananas with brown spots for the best flavor.

Add chopped dried fruit for extra tropical flair.

For a more indulgent version, sprinkle brown sugar on top before baking.
