Description

Crispy baguette slices topped with creamy brie, tart apple, and sweet fig jam — a quick, elegant appetizer perfect for fall gatherings or wine nights.

Ingredients

Scale

1 French baguette, sliced into ¼-inch rounds

2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter

8 ounces brie cheese, sliced thinly

1 medium crisp apple (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith), thinly sliced

½ cup fig jam or fig preserves

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Fresh thyme or rosemary for garnish (optional)

Honey or balsamic glaze for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

2. Slice the baguette and brush both sides lightly with olive oil or butter.

3. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and toast for 6–8 minutes until golden.

4. Top each toast with a slice of brie and return to the oven for 3–4 minutes until softened.

5. Spread a small amount of fig jam over the warm brie.

6. Add thin apple slices on top and drizzle with honey or balsamic glaze.

7. Sprinkle with fresh thyme or rosemary and serve immediately.

Notes

You can prepare the bread and slice ingredients ahead, but assemble just before serving for the best texture. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to one day and reheat in a 300°F oven to crisp.
