- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- ¾ cup warm milk
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Blue gel food coloring
- 4 tablespoons butter, softened
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- ½ cup crushed cookies
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 3 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Combine yeast and warm milk until foamy.
- Stir in sugar, melted butter, egg, and blue food coloring.
- Add flour and salt, knead until smooth, and let rise.
- Roll dough into a rectangle.
- Spread softened butter, sprinkle cinnamon sugar and crushed cookies.
- Roll dough into a log and slice.
- Place rolls in a pan and bake until lightly golden.
- Mix cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for icing.
- Frost warm rolls and top with cookie crumbs.
Notes
- Tint the dough to your preferred shade of blue.
- Use any cookie style for the filling.
- For gooier rolls, place them closely in the pan.
