-
1 tsp sugar
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
-
¼ cup red onion, thinly sliced (optional)
Instructions
-
Thinly slice cucumbers and place in a colander. Sprinkle with salt and let sit for 15–20 minutes.
-
Rinse cucumbers and pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels.
-
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together sour cream, vinegar, sugar, dill, salt, and pepper.
-
Add cucumbers and optional red onions to the dressing and mix gently.
-
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
Salting and draining the cucumbers prevents a watery salad.
Greek yogurt can be used as a substitute for sour cream.
Adjust seasoning after chilling as the flavours develop over time.
Best served cold and within 2–3 days of preparation.
