Description
A bold, flavorful salad made with seasoned ground beef, fresh veggies, shredded cheese, and crunchy Doritos, all tossed in a tangy dressing. Perfect for potlucks, parties, and family dinners.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning
¼ cup water
1 head romaine or iceberg lettuce, chopped
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup crushed Nacho Cheese Doritos
½ cup Catalina or Ranch dressing
Optional: ½ cup black beans, ¼ cup sliced black olives, 1 avocado (diced), 2 green onions (sliced), jalapeño slices
Instructions
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
Add taco seasoning and water. Stir to combine and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
Prepare vegetables by chopping lettuce and halving tomatoes.
In a large salad bowl, combine lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and optional add-ins.
Add cooled taco meat to the bowl.
Just before serving, add crushed Doritos and pour dressing over the top.
Toss gently until everything is evenly coated. Serve immediately.
Notes
For the best texture, only add chips and dressing right before serving.
Substitute ground turkey or plant-based crumbles for a lighter or vegetarian version.
To prep ahead, store components separately in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Try other Dorito flavors like Cool Ranch or Spicy Nacho for variety.
