Description

A bold, flavorful salad made with seasoned ground beef, fresh veggies, shredded cheese, and crunchy Doritos, all tossed in a tangy dressing. Perfect for potlucks, parties, and family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 packet taco seasoning

  • ¼ cup water

  • 1 head romaine or iceberg lettuce, chopped

  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 cup crushed Nacho Cheese Doritos

  • ½ cup Catalina or Ranch dressing

  • Optional: ½ cup black beans, ¼ cup sliced black olives, 1 avocado (diced), 2 green onions (sliced), jalapeño slices


Instructions

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.

  • Add taco seasoning and water. Stir to combine and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

  • Prepare vegetables by chopping lettuce and halving tomatoes.

  • In a large salad bowl, combine lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and optional add-ins.

  • Add cooled taco meat to the bowl.

  • Just before serving, add crushed Doritos and pour dressing over the top.

  • Toss gently until everything is evenly coated. Serve immediately.

Notes

For the best texture, only add chips and dressing right before serving.

Substitute ground turkey or plant-based crumbles for a lighter or vegetarian version.

To prep ahead, store components separately in the fridge for up to 3 days.
