¼ cup unsalted butter
¼ cup milk
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking powder
Filling:
8 oz softened cream cheese
¼ cup sour cream
⅓ cup melted white chocolate
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 egg
½ cup fresh blueberries
Topping:
½ cup fresh blueberries
¼ cup blueberry jam
Alternative Full Base Variation (Optional):
2¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
½ tsp fine sea salt
½ tsp ground cinnamon
½ cup unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp maple syrup
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp maple extract
1 cup mashed fresh blueberries
½ cup whole milk
1¼ cups wild blueberries (¼ cup reserved for topping)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin pan with paper cupcake liners.
In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy.
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Gradually add to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
Fold in blueberries lightly dusted in flour to prevent sinking.
Prepare the filling: In another bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, white chocolate, sugar, and egg until smooth. Gently fold in the blueberries.
Fill cupcake liners halfway with batter, add a spoonful of filling, then top with more batter.
Bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a rack.
Once cooled, top with blueberry jam and fresh blueberries. Optionally, drizzle with homemade blueberry compote.
Notes
Toss blueberries in flour before folding into batter to prevent sinking.
Let cupcakes cool before frosting to avoid melting.
Store in an airtight container for 2–3 days at room temperature, or 1 week refrigerated.
Customize with lemon zest or other berries for variations.
