Description
Homemade pizza burgers combine the savory richness of a burger with the gooey, cheesy goodness of a pizza. Juicy beef patties are seasoned with Italian herbs, stuffed or topped with melted mozzarella and pepperoni, then served hot on toasted buns. It’s a quick, family-friendly meal packed with flavor—perfect for weeknight dinners or weekend cookouts.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20)
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp Italian seasoning
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp sugar
¼ tsp black pepper
4 slices mozzarella cheese
12 slices pepperoni (optional)
4 hamburger buns
Optional: marinara sauce, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, butter for buns
Instructions
In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with tomato paste, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, sugar, and pepper. Don’t overmix.
Divide into 4 portions and form patties, about ¾-inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty.
Top each patty with a slice of mozzarella and 2–3 slices of pepperoni. Fold or seal meat around toppings if desired for a stuffed style.
Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat.
Cook patties 6–7 minutes per side, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F.
Butter and toast buns while patties cook.
Assemble burgers: place patties on buns, add optional marinara or toppings, and serve hot.
Notes
Add an egg or breadcrumbs to the meat mixture for better structure.
Use your favorite pizza toppings: sautéed mushrooms, onions, or bell peppers.
Toasting buns adds crunch and enhances flavor.
Grill for smoky taste; skillet for better crust.
Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
