Description
Lunch Lady Brownies are a nostalgic school cafeteria dessert known for their rich chocolate flavor and fudgy texture. Easy to make and full of comfort, these homemade brownies are perfect for creating new memories with a classic treat that never goes out of style.
Ingredients
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
Optional: 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
Optional topping: chocolate frosting or ganache
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan and line with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and cocoa powder until smooth.
Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until well combined.
In a separate bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture. Stir until just combined.
If using, fold in chopped nuts.
Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 25–30 minutes. Insert a toothpick in the center; a few moist crumbs should stick when done.
Allow brownies to cool completely in the pan before slicing. Optionally, top with chocolate frosting or ganache.
Notes
Do not overmix the batter to keep brownies tender and fudgy.
For cleaner cuts, chill the brownies slightly before slicing.
Great for freezing—wrap individual squares and store in a freezer-safe bag.
