¼ tsp nutmeg

1 ½ cups diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
Maple Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar
-
2–3 tbsp pure maple syrup
-
½ tsp vanilla extract
-
Optional: splash of milk to thin
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment.
-
In a large bowl, whisk melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
-
Beat in eggs and vanilla extract.
-
In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
-
Fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture, then stir in diced apples.
-
Spread batter evenly in the pan and smooth the top.
-
Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
-
Let cool completely before glazing.
-
To make glaze, whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, and vanilla until smooth. Add milk if needed for consistency.
-
Drizzle glaze over cooled blondies. Let set before slicing.
Notes
Use a kitchen scale to measure flour for the best texture.
For extra crunch, fold in ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts.
These freeze well without the glaze—add glaze after thawing.
For a twist, substitute diced apples with pears or pumpkin puree (adjust moisture).
