  • Author: mymamarecipes.com
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 12 sliders 1x

Description

These Hot Italian Sub Sliders pack all the bold, savory flavors of a traditional Italian sub into mini, melty, party-ready sandwiches. Made with layers of deli meats, provolone cheese, and tangy peppers on sweet Hawaiian rolls, then brushed with seasoned butter and baked to golden perfection. Perfect for weeknight dinners, game days, or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Sliders:

  • 1 (12-count) package of Hawaiian rolls

  • 6 oz thinly sliced deli ham

  • 6 oz salami

  • 6 oz large round pepperoni slices

  • 68 slices provolone cheese

  • 1/3 cup sliced roasted red peppers

  • 1/4 cup sliced banana peppers

For the Italian Butter Topping:

  • 4 tbsp butter, melted

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • (Optional) 1 clove garlic, minced

  • (Optional) 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

Optional Dipping Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce, warmed

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Prepare Rolls: Slice the entire package of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping the rolls attached. Place the bottom half in a baking dish.

  3. Layer Fillings: Starting with ham, then add salami, pepperoni, provolone, roasted red peppers, and banana peppers.

  4. Close and Top: Place the top half of the rolls back on.

  5. Make Butter Topping: Mix melted butter with Italian seasoning (plus garlic and Parmesan, if using). Brush generously over the tops.

  6. Bake Covered: Cover with foil and bake for 15–20 minutes.

  7. Bake Uncovered: Remove foil and bake another 5–10 minutes, until the tops are golden and cheese is melted.

  8. Serve: Let cool 2–3 minutes, then slice and serve with warm marinara sauce.

Notes

Can be assembled a day ahead—add butter topping and bake just before serving.

Use different meats or cheeses depending on preference (e.g., capicola, mozzarella).

For a vegetarian option, use grilled vegetables and mozzarella.

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in a 325°F oven for best results.
