Description

There is nothing quite like pouring a little sunshine into a glass, and these Pineapple Strawberry Swirled Slushies do exactly that. You blend frozen pineapple and strawberries into two colorful layers that swirl together into a bright, refreshing frozen drink. It is an easy blender recipe that feels special enough for parties but simple enough for any warm afternoon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups frozen pineapple chunks
  • 2 cups frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup pineapple juice or water
  • 1 cup strawberry juice or water
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons agave

Instructions

  1. Add the frozen pineapple chunks and pineapple juice or water to a blender, along with honey or other sweetener if using.
  2. Blend the pineapple mixture on high until it is thick, smooth, and icy, adding a splash more liquid only if needed to help the blades turn.
  3. Pour the pineapple mixture into a bowl or container and place it in the freezer while you prepare the strawberry layer.
  4. Add the frozen strawberries and strawberry juice or water to the blender with your chosen sweetener, then blend until the mixture is smooth and slushy.
  5. Spoon alternating layers of the pineapple and strawberry mixtures into tall glasses, filling each glass almost to the top.
  6. Use a long spoon to gently swirl the two colors together just enough to create a marbled effect without fully mixing the layers.
  7. Serve the Pineapple Strawberry Swirled Slushies immediately while they are thick and icy.

Notes

  1. Use fully frozen fruit for the best thick, slushy texture and the most intense fruit flavor.
  2. If your blender struggles with frozen fruit, add the liquids a little at a time until the mixture blends smoothly.
  3. For a lighter drink, use water or coconut water instead of juice and skip the added sweeteners.
  4. Leftover slushie mixture can be frozen in popsicle molds or ice cube trays and blended again later with a splash of liquid.
