It’s fully customizable with different chip flavors and preparation methods, making it perfect for busy weeknights, picky eaters, or game day spreads.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or almond flour for gluten-free)

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 tbsp milk (or dairy-free alternative)

  • 3 cups crushed potato chips (any flavor or style)

  • 1/2 tsp seasoned salt (e.g., Lawry’s)

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)

  • Oil (for frying) or cooking spray (for baking)

Instructions

  1. Prep Chicken:
Pound chicken to 1/2-inch thickness. Pat dry with paper towels.

  2. Set Up Breading Station:

    • Bowl 1: Flour mixed with garlic powder, paprika, and seasoned salt

    • Bowl 2: Beaten eggs with milk

    • Bowl 3: Crushed potato chips

  3. Bread Chicken:
Use the dry/wet/dry method. Dip chicken in flour, then egg wash, then coat in crushed chips. Press gently to adhere.

  4. Choose Cooking Method:

    • Baking:
Preheat oven to 400°F. Place chicken on a wire rack over a baking sheet. Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until internal temp reaches 165°F. Broil 1–2 minutes for extra crispness.

    • Frying:
Heat ½ inch of oil in a skillet to 350°F. Fry chicken 3–4 minutes per side until golden and internal temp reaches 165°F. Drain on paper towels.

Notes

For extra flavor, use barbecue, sour cream & onion, or jalapeño chips.

Use parchment-lined containers if prepping ahead.

Air fryer: 390°F for 7–10 minutes, flip halfway.

Let breaded chicken rest 5 minutes before cooking for better coating adhesion.
