This Heavenly Red Velvet Oreo Cheesecake blends the bold charm of red velvet with the crunch of Oreo cookies. The result is a rich, creamy, and visually stunning dessert layered with cocoa flavor, smooth cheesecake, and a classic cookie crust. Ideal for holidays, birthdays, or a weekend indulgence, this cheesecake is as impressive as it is easy to make.

Ingredients

Scale

Oreo Crust:

  • 3 cups Oreo cookie crumbs (about 26 cookies)

  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Cheesecake Filling:

  • 32 oz full-fat cream cheese, softened

  • ¾ cup sour cream

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • ¼ cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon red gel food coloring (or more for desired vibrancy)

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • 4 large eggs, room temperature

  • ½ cup finely crushed Oreos or 15 chopped Oreos (for texture)

Optional Toppings:

  • Whipped cream

  • Crushed Oreos

  • Melted white or dark chocolate

  • Fresh berries or chocolate shavings

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crust:
Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Mix Oreo crumbs with melted butter until evenly coated. Press into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Bake for 10 minutes. Let cool completely.

  2. Make the Filling:
In a mixer, beat softened cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in sour cream, cocoa powder, vanilla, and food coloring. Fold in heavy cream and chopped Oreos.

  3. Assemble:
Pour the batter over the cooled crust. Smooth the top with a spatula.

  4. Bake:
Bake at 350°F (177°C) for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 320°F (160°C) and bake for another 23 minutes, or until edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.

  5. Cool:
Turn off the oven and crack the door. Let the cheesecake cool inside for 1 hour. Transfer to the counter for 2 hours, then chill in the fridge for at least 6 hours or overnight.

  6. Serve:
Top with whipped cream, Oreo crumbs, or chocolate drizzle before slicing.

Notes

Use full-fat cream cheese for the best texture.

A water bath helps avoid cracking.

Chill thoroughly before slicing.

Store covered in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze (without toppings) for up to 3 months.
