Banana Bread Batter:

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and set aside.

  • Prepare the filling: Beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.

  • Make the banana batter: Mash the bananas in one bowl. In another, whisk the melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and salt. Add the mashed bananas and mix. Stir in the flour and baking soda until just combined.

  • Layer and swirl: Pour half the banana batter into the loaf pan. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over it. Top with the remaining batter. Swirl gently with a butter knife to create a marbled pattern.

  • Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center is clean. If needed, tent with foil to prevent over-browning.

  • Cool: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas with dark spots for the best flavor and moisture.
