Instructions
- Cook the chopped apples with brown sugar, butter, vanilla, and cinnamon over low heat until tender, then let cool completely.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and spray an 11×7-inch baking dish with baking spray.
- Cream the butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla and salt.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice, then gradually mix into the wet ingredients.
- Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan.
- Evenly layer the cooled apple filling over the batter.
- Spread the remaining batter on top of the apples.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until set and lightly golden.
- Melt the butter, maple syrup, vanilla, and pumpkin pie spice for the glaze, then whisk in powdered sugar until smooth.
- Spread the glaze over cooled brownies and allow to set before slicing.

- Do not skip cooking the apples, as this prevents excess moisture in the brownies.
- Allow the brownies to cool fully before glazing for clean slices.
