1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1½ tablespoons milk
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Maple-Cinnamon Drizzle:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons maple syrup
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Cream Cheese Icing:
2 oz cream cheese, softened
½ cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon milk
Dash of vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
Cut in cold butter using a pastry cutter or fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
In a separate bowl, whisk together heavy cream, egg, and vanilla extract.
Pour wet mixture into dry and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead gently 2–3 times. Shape into a 1-inch thick round.
Cut into 8 wedges or use a biscuit cutter.
Place scones on a baking sheet. Optionally chill for 15 minutes.
Brush tops with cream and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
Bake for 18–22 minutes or until golden.
Cool on a wire rack and drizzle with glaze if desired.
Notes
Keep butter as cold as possible for best flakiness.
An optional chilling step helps prevent scones from spreading.
For softer scones, use a touch more cream.
Glazes can be mixed and matched to taste.
Store leftovers in an airtight container or freeze for later.
