- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (80/20)
- 2 fresh jalapeños, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 cup crumbled gorgonzola cheese
- 4 burger buns, toasted
- Lettuce or arugula
- Tomato slices
- Red onion slices
- Burger sauce or mayonnaise
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat, about 400°F.
- In a large bowl, gently mix the ground beef, chopped jalapeños, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- Fold in the crumbled gorgonzola, being careful not to overmix the meat.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape into patties with a small indent in the center.
- Place the patties on the grill and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until they release easily.
- Flip the burgers and cook another 4 to 5 minutes, until desired doneness is reached.
- Toast the buns on the grill during the last minute of cooking.
- Assemble the burgers with lettuce, tomato, onion, sauce, and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra heat, leave some jalapeño seeds in the mixture.
- Blue cheese or feta can be used instead of gorgonzola.
