Description

A comforting Chicken Caesar Croissant Sandwich made with crispy fried chicken, buttery croissants, and fresh Caesar salad. Perfect for a cozy homemade lunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Neutral oil, for frying
  • 1½ cups shredded romaine lettuce
  • ¼ cup Caesar dressing
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh lemon juice
  • 2 large buttery croissants
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • Shaved Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Combine buttermilk and hot sauce, add chicken, and marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Mix flour with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat marinated chicken thoroughly in the flour mixture.
  4. Heat oil to 350°F and fry chicken until golden and cooked through, about 4–5 minutes per side.
  5. Rest fried chicken briefly on a wire rack.
  6. Toss romaine with Caesar dressing, Parmesan, black pepper, and lemon juice.
  7. Lightly toast croissants and brush cut sides with melted butter.
  8. Assemble sandwiches with Caesar dressing, fried chicken, salad, and shaved Parmesan.
  9. Serve immediately while warm and crisp.

Notes

  1. Chicken thighs stay juicier than breasts, but either can be used.
  2. Do not overdress the salad to prevent soggy croissants.
  3. Assemble sandwiches just before serving for best texture.
  4. Leftover chicken reheats best in an oven or air fryer.
