  • Author: Mohamed Ayad
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A refreshing homemade Strawberry Iced Tea made with fresh strawberries, brewed tea, and bright citrus for a naturally sweet and vibrant summer drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 black tea bags or 2 teaspoons loose-leaf black tea
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Ice for serving

Instructions

  1. Simmer the water until it reaches a gentle boil and steep the black tea for five to eight minutes.
  2. Remove the tea bags and let the brewed tea cool slightly.
  3. In a saucepan, combine sliced strawberries, sugar, and a splash of water and cook until softened.
  4. Mash the berries lightly to release their juices, then strain to create a smooth syrup.
  5. Combine the brewed tea, cold water, and strawberry syrup in a pitcher and stir well.
  6. Chill for at least one hour before serving over ice.

Notes

  1. For a lighter flavor, use green tea instead of black tea.
  2. Adjust sweetness by increasing or reducing sugar to taste.
