Ingredients
Scale
- 4 thin cut beef steaks (about 4–6 ounces each)
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried chili flakes
- 3 garlic cloves, finely minced
- 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
- Lemon or lime wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Mix the olive oil, smoked paprika, chili flakes, garlic, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl until combined.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat until very hot.
- Brush both sides of the thin cut steaks evenly with the spice and oil mixture.
- Place the steaks in the hot skillet and cook for 2 to 3 minutes without moving, until a golden-brown crust forms.
- Flip the steaks and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes, depending on thickness and desired doneness.
- Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest briefly for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve immediately with lemon or lime wedges.
Notes
- Thin cut lamb steaks can be used in place of beef with the same seasoning.
- For a milder version, reduce or omit the chili flakes.
- These steaks are best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be gently reheated in a skillet over low heat.
