Description

Toasted ravioli is a crispy, golden-brown appetizer that is perfect for game day, parties, or family dinners. Made with crispy breaded ravioli and served with marinara sauce, it’s an irresistible snack that everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (12 oz) ravioli (frozen or refrigerated, cheese or meat-filled)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Oil (vegetable or canola, for frying) or cooking spray (for oven or air-fryer)
  • Marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1.  If using frozen ravioli, take it out of the freezer right before preparing. If using refrigerated ravioli, no need to thaw.
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. In another bowl, beat the egg.
  4. Dip each ravioli into the egg mixture, coating completely, then press into the breadcrumb mixture until evenly coated.
  5. For frying: Heat oil to 350°F in a deep fryer or large pot. Fry the ravioli for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  6. For baking: Preheat the oven to 425°F. Place the breaded ravioli on a wire rack over a baking sheet, lightly spray with cooking spray, and bake for 10-15 minutes until golden and crispy.
  7. For air-frying: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F. Arrange the breaded ravioli in a single layer, spray with cooking spray, and cook for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  8. Serve immediately with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  1. Serve with a variety of dips like garlic butter, ranch, or pesto for a unique twist.
  2. Make ahead: You can bread the ravioli and freeze it for later use. Simply freeze them in a single layer before storing in a bag, and fry or bake when ready.
  3. If using frozen ravioli, no need to thaw before breading, just coat and cook straight from frozen.
